Evidence-Based Medicine
Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) is a required course during the first year and fall of the second year of the medical curriculum. EBM teaches core knowledge in population health, epidemiology, statistics, and study design that students need for the boards. However, applying EBM to patient care requires understanding how this knowledge is used in the context of published papers, and critically evaluating these papers. As such, the course’s ultimate goal is to prepare students to apply evidence to patient care, learn throughout their careers, and evaluate new knowledge as it arises.
