Residency Program
About Us
The MedStar Health/Georgetown-Washington Hospital Center Family Medicine Residency Program was originally established in Washington, DC in 1977 through a collaborative agreement between Georgetown University School of Medicine (GUSOM) and Providence Hospital. 41 years later, the program successfully transitioned to the MedStar Health GME Consortium in November 2018. ACGME accredited since 1977, our first residents joined us in 1978. We have twenty-one residents in our program, accepting 7 each year with diverse interests embodying our motto, “A Commitment to Caring for the Underserved.”
