AHEC Scholar Spotlights, Manfredonia Headshot

Peter Manfredonia is a fourth-year medical student at the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Peter grew up in the suburbs outside of Los Angeles before attending Boston College as a member of the class of 2020 where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology on a pre-medical track. Peter then completed his Master’s degree in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University.

Grace DeLeon is a Master’s Entry to Nursing student at Georgetown University, graduating in 2026. Originally from Bethesda, Maryland, she has a background in public health and policy, where she led initiatives focused on substance use disorder and opioid prevention.

At GUSOM, John has been involved in the community through his work with the Medical Student Alumni Ambassadors as Vice Chair, Family Medicine Interest Group as Co-President, SHAPE program as a Pre-med Mentor, and Outdoor Club as Co-President. Outside of medicine you can find him fly fishing around the US, golfing with friends, spending time with family, or diving into a good book. You can also find him volunteering with the Mayfly Project, where he helps teach foster children how to fly fish as well as respect the environment.

John Etchart is a fourth year medical student at the Georgetown University School of Medicine (GUSOM) who matched into Family Medicine residency at Full Circle Health in Boise, ID. He developed a particularly strong interest in Rural Healthcare after growing up in Helena, Montana and plans to work in the rural northwest region of the US for his future in Family Medicine.
